Protesters on the Roof of Parliament

Yesterday at around 3pm a group of 50 activists from Greenpeace broke onto the Parliamentary estate and climbed onto the roof of Westminster Hall to protest against what they see as a weak government position on climate change.

Put People First – The G20 March

Today kicked off a week of protests in advance of next weeks G20 summit in London.  Today’s protest, which was the largest in London for five years, saw 150 trade unions, charities, and campaigning organisations unite under the banner of “Put People First”.

Around the world today, protests were held as part of a global day of action to coincide with the UN Climate talks being held in Poland.  In London hundreds (maybe thousands) took part in the National Climate March through Central London.
